An Emirates Airbus A330-200, registration A6-EAP performing flight EK-51 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Munich (Germany), was enroute at FL340 about 30nm south of Vienna (Austria) when the crew decided to divert to Prague (Czech) after it flew through a zone of hail causing cracked windshields and damage to the nose cone's paint. The airplane landed safely on Prague's runway 24 about 40 minutes after the decision to divert.

The passengers were bussed to Munich reaching Munich with a delay of 9 hours. A replacement Airbus A330-200 registration A6-EKT was dispatched from Dubai to Prague and reached Munich with a delay of 17 hours.

The incident aircraft is still on the ground in Prague (standing Jul 15th 13:00Z).
