Thai Airways International's special flights for Thai Muslims planning to go on the Hajj Pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, will operate from 29 September – 28 November 2011.
This year THAI has arranged 60 special flights, inbound and outbound combined, utilizing the Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a 295-seat capacity. The total served is estimated around 8,850 passengers.
From 29 September to 15 October 2011, there will be 26 flights departing from Hat Yai, two flights from Phuket, one flight from Krabi and one flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport destine for Manidah Airport.
For the return flights, from 12-28 November 2011, there will be 26 flights departing from Jeddah to Hat Yai, two flights to Phuket, one flight to Krabi and one flight to Bangkok.
Flight schedules may change however, depending on the approval of the Department of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia.
Hajj pilgrims are allowed to carry 1 carry-on baggage, which must be not exceed 5 kilograms, with the total dimension not exceeding 115 centimeters or 45 inches. The check-in baggage allowance is 30 kilograms per person.
The round trip special airfares which include all surcharge fees but excluding airport tax are:
Hat Yai - Manidah and Jeddah-Hat Yai - THB 48,500
Phuket - Manidah and Jeddah- Phuket - THB 47,500
Krabi - Manidah and Jeddah- Krabi - THB 47,500
Bangkok - Manidah and Jeddah- Bangkok - THB 45,500
